Bywyd Ltd (pronounced “Buh-wid”) is run by Geraint Hughes, a chartered town planner with over 30 years experience in masterplanning and regeneration. Geraint has previously led regeneration and masterplanning teams at DTZ and Terence O’Rourke Ltd, and in 2006 he set up a successful, specialist independent masterplanning company where he was a Director for 18 years.   He established Bywyd in 2024 to have more flexibility for interesting projects and creative collaboration. 

Geraint specialises in town centre strategies, community engagement, visioning exercises, sustainable communities and economic regeneration. Geraint’s ‘key milestones’

• 1998: Established the DTZ Town Centre Team (Reading and London).
• 2001: Recruited by TOR Ltd in Bournemouth to lead their Regeneration Team. 
• 2006: Founded NEW masterplanning, a specialist planning & design company.
• 2024: Established Bywyd Ltd to provide specialist freelance consultancy advice.
